Today's consumption is mostly an indicator of how debt is the modern condition of the Young American. People are willing to legitimize living with their debt as long as they make minimum payments (i.e. $18)and continue to spend. The iGeneration will wait the longest of any generation to get married, mostly based on the desire to have a career first, which is hardly guaranteed by our debt-riddled country, which spends as precariously as we do.
